I believe with that 4 billion a plan to emerge from bankruptcy can be made and they could start operating again. Although I haven't studied this enough and I think other court issues would have to settled but this would be the first step. I believe.

4 Billion in deposits means the FDIC sold a solvent bank for fire sale price also opening a whole can of worms in discovery court and basically gives the 13 Billion suit against the FDIC to Washington Mutual, that's why it's critically important.

JPM also holds about 26 Billion WMI assets and they also own the stock of Providan which makes them majority holder. IMO a holding company with 32 Billion in assets and perhaps 5 Billion in cash will be worth something when the commons get transferred over or JPM and the FDIC settle, which would be extremely smart for both the FDIC and JPM to do before discovery which should begin March 23rd, 2010 at the latest, assuming no more delays.

I think Wamu(Q) stock will be worth somewhere between 3-20$ when this is all said and done with which is why I'm thinking hard about buying some more of it. Gonna see if the MM's can push this down to .11 today which is where I wanna buy, or possibly below that if some kind person wants to sell me some shares cheaper.
