I don't think they are back to square one, but it does depend on how well the technologies can integrate. If the chemical detection tech is the size of a house, then they might be back to square one, but if the sensors can easily be integrated into the existing shell and still supply accurate results, then that's a good thing.
I think that argument is 6 of one and half a dozen of the other, we'll just have to see how it will how they will integrate with each other.
