Sure, people have always shorted against convertible preferred and debentures. Technically speaking, it wasn't "naked" shorting, because they had stock to cover with.
Once again, exactly who is the "some" in some say? You guys are famous for claiming that was said, but not one of you has been able to produce anything to back it up. in fact, the debate was not whether it existed or not, but, whether it actually impacted a company.
