What Does Stalking-Horse Bid Mean?
An initial bid on a bankrupt company's assets from an interested buyer chosen by the bankrupt company. From a pool of bidders, the bankrupt company chooses the stalking horse to make the first bid.

Investopedia explains Stalking-Horse Bid
This method allows the distressed company to avoid low bids on its assets. Once the stalking horse has made its bid, other potential buyers may submit competing bids for the bankrupt company's assets. In essence, the stalking horse sets the bar so that other bidders can't low-ball the purchase price.

non core could mean a few different things; like parts that don't fit into where the company wants to go from here, or simply non- essential/costly operations. the biggest one i've seen sold so far was for 5 million. I would have to believe taht in order to fetch 1 billion ,Chem would have to sell a core asset.

Review the hours for 'Sachin Lulla'.
Quite few hours billed for topics such as potential divestiture phone calls and emails,due diligence meeting for divesture, asset sale, buyer calls,etc.

non-core assets, could be a core asset that they don't feel is the way they want to go with the company{any more}, or it could mean an insignificant / non vital part,that doesn't fit the business plan. The definition of core asset is what I'm questioning
