mikey1- good to see you hanging around with several others and a few climbing back in.
I have sucked at timing getting in and out of stocks/investments for years so this company I decided to sit back and let the shares rot.

This is just one initial order but it is a good-sized one for an initial order of hopefully a string of them from BHP. And creates a little more marketing power having BHP step in.
If it is SuperArcoplate then apparently a mining Big is willing to say yes to taking on a large initial order so production of Super is probably looking reliable.
Gene and the team have created by far the thickest single pass alloy overlay wear plate available on the commercial market.
A nice life achievement for Gene considering his lifetime in the industry. None of the bigs in the wearplate industry even come close to this little company's technical accomplishments and plate IMO.

This doesn't guarantee success as a sharheolder, but it helps the odds.

Considering the tough times in mining on the Capital Spending side of things it is nice to see a large intitial order of a contract (although the tough times aren't quite as bad lately).

Hopefully SuperArcoplate becomes the plate BHP comes to rely on for heavy wear applications. Then maybe Rio Tinto will see the light too in a big way.
BHP has a lot more infrastructure worldwide than FMG so as a recurring customer (this is an initial order) could generate a larger recurring revs stream via maintenance plus of course new projects.

Good luck.

Larrybaz, good to see you back in since you were the one that brought this to VMC (where I first saw it). Hopefully the Superplate catches on and gets the ball rolling again for the company. I wonder what margins will be like with this BHP order. My guess is they will be pretty good but we will have to wait awhile for the next Q's results (probably December).

As DaveinHackensack mentions, there should be a pretty firm base of longtimers that have locked up a chunk of the public float. Makes for potential good momentum once the bigger #s start coming back online.
