Even the last option could be described the way as it was quoted in the Linuxworld article. ;) It just depends on how "new silicon" is defined.


the trouble with this third option is the Intel quote continues: "So to light it up so fast is not a difficult thing."

If it were true dual-core, they wouldn't be talking as if they just slapped it together. And to refer to a dual-core as "not new silicon" would be an incredible stretch. Even Elmer agrees!

True dual core isn't put together "so fast".

I know. I just listed the general options for making a dual core CPU. For myself I just considered my first 2 listed options. My comment to the last one was not without reason accompanied by a smiley ;)

Now it looks a bit like it is option 2.

Re: - a (as I call it) pseudo dual core (wafers are diced in a way, that 2 normal cores reside on one piece of silicon - they are connected via package)
