Snowgoose doesn't have to explain anything.
He's the spokes person, and that doesn't make him responsible for follow up everything DM said. So DM's got a big mouth and says whatever he wants to say to calm investors down. However, DM actually does what he says he's gonna do. It's just that he does it late. GO EVFL!!! CHEER UP SNOWGOOSE!!!
