any ideas on why the rich american oil companies (record profits and all) didn't do much (except buy back their own shares) over the last 8 years even with oil men running the political side of things? i don't agree the current administration has a thing to do with the lack of action. i have no idea WHY exxon (for instance) doesn't do more, but it isn't because of who is in office, as the last 8 years have more than proven.

......there will be no bidding war by the US. They have not been in the game for years and with the present administration they will be sitting on the bench for the forseeable future. There are no incentives for American companies to find oil in the current political climate.
