That article is old news, and the MagShoe it describes is not good enough. We know it's not good enough from the fact that it has not been more widely adopted.
The MagShoe needs to detect not only metal objects, which it does, but also chemical bomb components, which it doesn't. As long as it does not detect bomb/detonator chemicals it will still be necessary for people to remove their shoes for visual inspection. If people have to take off their shoes anyway, then there is no reason to have the MagShoe. That is overall the judgment of the market, which is why this remains a sub-penny stock.
The company is surely completely aware of this, and I'm hoping that they have developed an enhanced model that has both metal detector and chemical sniffer. If they have developed a new model like that, and if word of it has leaked, that would explain the sudden spike in the share price.
If the company comes out with a PR that announces such a new model, the stock price is going to skyrocket.
