Although the forfeiture order is for 171B, that doesn't mean Madoff has that much in personal assets. The amount is most likely overblown by the prosecutors. It's a "just in case" figure in the event the forensics show the amount of loss of 50 or 60 billion thrown out there by the press is way understated. There's also no evidence that he has that much in assets, although you gotta figure he must have squirreled away a ton of money through all those years.

Warpcore it may seem that way to you, but I feel betrayed by the crooks. I didn't put money in Madoff funds, but I did in GTEL, GTE, GTEM. By minimizing the losses experienced by other board members seems a bit heartless. I happy your ahead of the game, but that does not alter the losses experienced by others.
