???
which brokerage firm did you secure this information from? have a phone number I can call to confirm?
that has NOT been my experience, but perhaps some brokers have made it easier on their clients to insulate shares from being loaned out to shorts and accept telephonic instructions now
but you are majoring in the minors. the key point I have made repeatedly is: if you hold WAVX shares in a margin account, those shares typically can be loaned out without your knowledge or consent
contrary to your assertion, clients ARE being compensated for authorizing brokerage houses to loan out their shares held in non-margin accounts. I know this for a fact because I was repeatedly solicited by Schwab a couple of years back to loan out my shares held in my SEP-IRA account and offered a sweet rate of interest to do so. in fact, the rate kept creeping up with every successive solicitation call.
I am reasonably confident that Dr. Nick will be able to verify what I am saying.
Home Solutions hit a new low today? not terribly surprising. sorry to disappoint you, but I made about $100K on that stock a few years ago. unfortunately, I had made a lot more than that on paper, but held too long and had to be satisfied with $100K instead of the $500K I had once made. interesting that you bring Home Solutions up though; that is the stock where I had been approached by Schwab on several occasions to loan out my shares. I refused to do so, but now realize that such a call portends erosion of one's long position. once burned, you know....
my, you are a cheery fellow!
