5000 is number of shares requested; you're right it's not a lot at these levels. Folks are often moving blocks of hundreds of thousands and millions. There really is no "average investment" on any stock. The important number here is there are 650 million shares in the AS and OS is maxed at 650 million. 5000 is the minimum amount at this price level.. It gets the MM on the bid or ask.. but that order is usually many more shares.. if you look at L2 for others stocks as the price moves up .. that amount becomes less.. so like stocks in the penneys, it will show 500 shares.. and the dollars it shows. 100 shares.. but again, that order could be and usually is for much more than that minimum amount..
