"would You not be on the defense constantly if you got calls all day calling you a F$%^&* or a C%T^YU etc etc? lol."

I appreciate where you're gong with that. Yeah, I understand his feelings. This is not the first time (unfortunately maybe) I've had such a call to an IR rep of a company that's ... uhhh... "not showing up well" with it's ticker symbol.

I started the conversation being jovial and specifically (and clearly) "understanding in advance" of the fact that he gets a lot of negativity. So I did that partly to sympathize, partly to EMpathize, and partly to disarm him - I want the truth after all.

Well he wasn't having any of that.... a very cold man as it were. Anyway, I can assure you this call was all about sobriety and reality. I wasn't going to candy coat the situation nor waste our mutual time throwing rocks either. This was a "Hi Joe, an experienced investor and business man here who has a substantial investment to cut to the chase with you for a change".

I would have thought he'd have a different reaction. He needed to have a different reaction. First of all, as an IR guy he needs to be able to take a lot of crap... it's his job. But when a guy who (purports to anyway) knows something about investing - oh, and has a wad of skin on the table for the stock he represents - call you up in this circumstance, this is an opportunity to really think over the plan of effectuating INVESTOR RELATIONSHIPS.

So the call was a complete bummer when I quickly realized the necessary component of having a bona-fide and qualified and interested IR guy in place is not at all realized for HGLC.

That stinks.
