UPC, You'd be staring at 115W "TDP" (Intel-style), and something close to 130-140W "peak".

Fine, then let's use the 115W figure, since that's what counts in long-term power measurements, not some peak that matters only 0.001% of the time. Assuming you stick to the 68W "difference," that means Athlon 64 will consume no more than 47W. Nice try.

Now, add to this that the 68W difference was for the whole systems.

Name another part of a typical Prescott system that consumes significantly more power than the corresponding part of a typical Athlon 64 system. There is none, other than the processor itself.

But you can play the numbers game all you want. I don't need your exaggerations to know that Prescott is consuming way too much power for my tastes, enough to make Athlon 64 look like a miser. But the difference isn't as large as you guys make it out to be.
