That is is what he is working on, right? First get the product working, then get the design, then get the manufacturing worked out, then, and only then, can you be profitable. So maybe you would rather he had sold this product as a chip to an oem manufacturer last year and called it good. That would have been your call. As I look at things quickly developing with regards to gov. mandates (or anticipation of these) I think that would have been a premature move. That is my opinion.
