Actually it looks to be the start of a new uptrend. GOOG had a head and shoulders, then the drop and now the recovery of higher lows a rising wedge if you will. And yes I would expect a pull back of sorts. Do you follow fibonacci retracements? Of course I do not claim to be the financial advisor here so ....it is all my opinion.:)

Gold is definitly a safe stock cause its been one of the most precious metals for 3000 years but google is the huge company of the moment and is so much innovative that you can probably rely on it.
