"If (Commit Charge, peak) is less than (Physical Memory, Available) then buying more memory will speed up your system."

is that right? Doesn't make sense to me...

All the good info you included in your post brings up yet
another question I'll do in the gotmilk style of but but but.

maybe its a chicken & egg question

Does Bruce need extra short cycles in his cpu because
the application programs he runs to trade the makets:
- are too complex, doing too many calculations
or
- are poorly written (algorithms) to get a "job" done
?

I haven't been to Silicon Investor yet, but I'am trying
to show that security issues addressed on that CL thread
have turned it into a "HELP, I'v been attacked" type place
that has replaced computer learning with computer protection.

Imagine a cooking food board where using the hardware of pots
and pans and other equipment, and the ingredients needed for
a mixture to create a food item, and the steps in cooking
have been replaced with the warnings about short circuits
and mixers having blades fall off.

To me that a seperate thread of same name with -Security added.

The SI CL board was created in the spirit to help folks run and use
application software programs, and the overhead and support issues needed
to "Have a Nice Day" versus heavy in security concerns.

I'am just making the point that an upsurge in hacker attacks
has increased that topic in far excess to it role of past years
when it was just another topic of size equal to any other.

My reading of SI's CL thread this past year when I started
shows a void of application programs being investigated.

Rather than Bruce overclock his cpu, he might obtain the same
"always running fast" environment through a collection of others
experience using better software than he is currently running.

It would reduce the heat concerns via less cpu cycles needed
to accomplish the same end results needed to be obtained so that
the info is used for trading.

less heat = less noise for same cooling setup

But it seems that Bruce takes the overclocked route similiar
to those that surf the internet as user Windows XP Administrator,
protected and shielded with a ton of security software rather than
learn the functionality of Windows to set access and run as user Limited.

Thats in part why I think the large amount and heavy security talk
on the SI CL thread should be off loaded onto a sister CL thread,
its the approach of folks needed protection because they did not
learn to protect themselves before going out, but leave the house
with the door wide open, causing them to hire & buy outside services
to surround their home at the location of the sidewalk and street.

Just close the door when leaving.

Whoa. "If (Commit Charge, peak) is less than (Physical Memory, Available) then buying more memory will speed up your system."

You got me on that one. Would you please elaborate?

(EDIT: I think you clarified this in an earlier post. Sorry. It took me a while to catch up with everything)
