I personally am very skeptical of the intentions of LG--I would trust their sense of fair play much less than the Japanese companies or any Finnish or Swedish one. Presently they are in dispute (litigation?) with a New Zealand company called Fisher & Paykel (pie-kul) regarding blatant copies of some patented appliance designs of the latter company. A motor was copied so exactly that a design flaw in the early F-P production was repeated by LG. So far LG has shown no remorse or intention to correct this outright intellectual property theft.
Let's not have unrealistic expectations. I have to think that some type of overbearing pressure to license will be the only way to move them.
