We didn't use cruise much, but the times that we did I found that it shifted at least as much. I really didn't do much more than maintain the speed limit, so I wasn't driving it roughly at all. It did have a decent pick-up when one needed to pass, but certainly not the kick I have gotten in other cars. The previous year we rented an Impala, and it was a demon comparatively.
On declines I usually just coasted if the angle was enough. But, the fuel economy was pretty good. The upside of less engine performance I suppose. If you want economy in a large car, it is pretty good.
I guess we could have gotten the Hemi. :^)))
