Do you know Lake Taupo on the North Island ????.....been trying to get there for years....Flying to Aukland as soon as possible...My father was stationed in Christchurch during the War..did the Gilberts and the Solomons....determined..

Best warm, small, slow place to live in NZ ??

CIM's zinc deposit was never "worked" as you put it, at least not as a mining operation. It was discovered in the 1960's and extensively drilled by Falconbridge. The tonnages are sub-economic, although interesting. If zinc went up considerably, it would be worth a second look.

There is no zinc in kimberlite. The kimberlite play is hundreds of miles away in a completely different geological setting.

Instead of "when mining eventually takes place", the proper descriptor would be "if mining ever takes place".

Haven't been to your part of the world for 7 years but funny you should pop up I was just wondering the other day. Self I said... with all the volcanic activity in NZ you'd think they might be looking for diamonds there?

Do you know if this is happening or is likely to in the near future? Are there any known kimberlite? What would be the most likely area if diamond exploration is being considered please? Thanks John miss the old place!
