Interesting post - Well written but total crap!

You have an extra 10% laying around. If so congrats. Not everyone does.

If the result of the government taking another 10% to provide cheesesteaks to the lazy results in more lazy people screaming for cheesesteaks then a few years later the government asks for another 10%. Not to mention 90% of the 10% never made it to the bum to begin with. It was sucked up by beaurocratic costs and administrative overhead that increases at an 8% clip every year.

Have you been living in another world or do you simply have no sense of history whatsoever?

Still a well-written post though.

My brother works at a homeless shelter.

Believe me, most of those people are not trying to mooch off the system. Many have mental illness, addiction problems, etc, and have family who are completely fine. It could be a family member of you or me that needs society's social net -paid by the government mind you- just to avoid starving to death.

Some people come out of there and lead productive lives. Others never do. Regardless, taking care of the unfortunate is what civilized countries are supposed to do. It only takes a very, very miniscule portion of our GDP.
