wall...

Please use caution when ascribing to me "earth centrism". Although I do believe that way, I carefully note that nowhere in Scripture does it say that there are no other beings anywhere in the Universe. That is an inference I make from a number of passages which describe the universe as having been made after earth, and for man to see a glimpse of God's majesty and power. If I am incorrect in my opinion, it is my opinion that is incorrect, and not Scripture. That said, I feel pretty sure I am correct.

When dealing with an all powerful and all knowing God, it is unwise to rely solely on logic, especially when your logic contradicts Scripture. Your logic and my logic are both very fallible, but Scripture is not.

"It would be easy for "Him" to create the light coming to us from an exploding star, that in effect never exploded. That pesky question of "Why" comes up again. Would not having done that, lessen your awe when you look at Hubble photos? The interesting thing is that we are getting a peek at the universe before it supposedly existed."

LOL -- the "pesky question" arises again only in your mind. I explicitly answered that question in my previous post. Why would the Hubble telescope pictures "lessen my awe"?? If anything, it should increase my awe, if that were possible. Yes, in a way we are looking at a universe before it existed, but the amazing fact is that what we see is an accurate picture nonetheless.

I read the Google information you supplied on ice core dating, but as I said in my post, I am not scientifically proficient in this area so much of it was above my pay grade. As I suggested yesterday, you should go to some of the scientific creation sites to get better answers. I would note, however, that the methods of dating (as all other methods of dating) rely heavily on assumptions and constant uniformity, neither of which are necessarily valid.

I understand your questions, but I do not have the answers to those questions -- only God can answer any question as to the "reasons" He had for doing something one way as opposed to doing it another way. One answer that comes readily to my mind is that He chose to make it all the same way, but that is merely my poor speculation, which can never be substituted for the mind of God, who said through Isaiah (55:8-9):

8 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways," declares the LORD.
9 "For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts."

Finally, to doubt Scripture is not in itself "inviting eternal damnation", only the refusal to make Jesus your Lord and Savior can do that. But it is hard to imagine someone really making Jesus Lord of their life and yet not accepting Scripture.

Take care, my friend.
