The mkt has caused a lot of pain to some holders of this stock and I can imagine some already sold out. In the big picture the magnitude of this buyback has huge implication: What would it do to the float?
It appears that the timing of the buyback could not be better if the general market continue its upwards trend. You have the shorts covering competing with IDCC competing with new buyers for fewer and fewer available shares.
