I'll grant you some of his statements on education are not standard left wing orthodoxy.

Other than that tax increases on higher earners, government takeover of medicine, massive deficit spending (and lying about the expected deficits btw), government mandates on CO2 emissions etc is all standard left wing orthodoxy.

You may like or even love that if you agree with him. Hell if you put a libertarian in who was following libertarian orthodoxy I would turn cartwheels. Personally I think his continuation of the Bush spending orgy is a road to ruin.
