rich sears - I absolutely agree with you that the Berlin is one of many stakeholders in the outcome of the Laidlaw-Berlin project and will have a say in the process as will all other stakeholders - State residents, County residents, Town residents, businesses in all three areas, taxpayers in all three areas, unemployed in al three areas, the Company (as a member of the Berlin community), etc...
MBB has always said that he wants a positive and constructive relationship with the community of Berlin and hopefully also with the Town local government... He has always said that the first step is to own the property as a commitment to the future of the project and then a highly active and sustained dialogue would be appropriate... And the Company is now following through on that often-stated commitment...
Some members of the local government have chosen in the past not to have a constructive and positive dialogue with the Company (and have instead engaged in threats and attempted intimidation) and are only now belatedly realizing that the project is moving forward anyway... Hopefully they will jump on board the departed train and work for the common interests of the community and the project now and in the future...
