The cultures at Pfizer and Wyeth are quite different--I think that cramming them together will be ugly, with a lot of casualties.

I’d be interested in any additional color you may have on the culture differences.

Notwithstanding the above, a PFE-WYE deal does make sense financially. PFE wants to buy the largest company it can afford—and is eager to take on debt in doing so—because that’s the way to produce the greatest accretion to EPS. Everything else is a sideshow.
