Converting an existing 65 nM fab, or one of the 45 nM fabs, will absorb a good deal of this "extra" capacity.

I understand this is likely the plan. But what about the just completed quarter ? Would the process of converting a 65nM fab to 32 nM have started already ? Or were all six fabs producing parts at full volume ? I wonder whether Intel will purposely build inventory of 65 nm parts prior to idling one of the three 65 nM fabs for conversion ?

I think a build-up of inventory, regardless of reason, will be considered a negative factor for the stock.
