I just spoke with Janet Point

NOTE - This is my summary of the conversation based on my interpretation of what she said.

She confirmed that Samsung has 45 days to complete a contract and make payment within the terms of the binding term sheet. If they do not, then IDCC will proceed to the ITC decision on Feb 9.

I asked her about any release of the financial details. She indicated that no information would be forthcoming until they had a final agreement. I asked if IDCC could make a disclosure using a range based on the term sheet. She said at this time there is no plan to make any financial disclosures until the contract is signed.

It looks like the groundhog came out and saw his shadow, so we have six more weeks of waiting.

Jim, the company has always stressed the word approximately 45 days which also just so happened to coincide with the CES convention in Las Vegas. Most of Interdigital's management team was out there and so were many Samsung execs. Some speculation was that the CES convention could have afforded to be a site where the execs could get together if need be before finalizing the deal. If true, we could hear something as soon as today or as late as Thursday if indeed signatures were gathered before the convention's end. Interdigital has never been skilled at informing the street in a manner that is absolutely clear which I believe is why we have such a hard time getting serious coverage. I do expect that to change upon the Samsung deal being known. IMO
