Do you have a link for that as I don't remember the word *easy* ever being mentioned. At their current snail-like progress 4 Ghz is definitely looking iffy by the end of the year and 3.8 Ghz is not looking much better but we shall soon see. :-)

solved their issues and will reach 4Ghz easily this year

Bring it on, I say. 90nm Prescott at 4Ghz is not even going to stack up to an FX-55, which is due out in the fall, and on 130nm no less. Now if Intel has 4Ghz and 2M L3 together, then there may be some trouble, but it still isn't a terrible threat.

Re: Paul Otellini has clearly stated just a month ago in public

Do you have a link? I know it's an honest recollection, but the wording of Intel statements can be quite sneaky.

Prescotts were "shipping for revenue" last December and Prescott was a 3.0ghz - 3.4ghz chip, according to the December conference call.

Some of Intel's product performance claims and forecasts this past year went beyond anything Jerry Sanders said at even his most enthusiastic moments....

Edit I see you posted a link to an Inquirer story.
