dude_danny - Dude - regarding what was on the blog

TVTonic have made available a Media Center version of their application. Installing it lets you watch four channels they stream over the web - News, MoviePick, Cartoon Cow and Rawdio. Once installed it's available in More Programs inside Media Center like any other application. It's pretty cool, I've got the MoviePick channel running in the office right now - there's a trailer for The Alamo on right now and interviews with the cast.

The one complaint I have is that they appear to host the video themselves and don't actually use Media Center for playback, so you can't pause or stop the content.

I tried TVTonic last night - and in the words SKS uses many times - cool! The machine I tried it on isn't really fast enough (not quite 500MHZ) so I think that caused it to be slightly fragmented. Enjoyed some cartoons I hadn't seen in forever.

If I recall correctly you can pause it and continue.

I'm wondering if (like YES) you can play the clips while disconnected from the net. Of course I could have just unpluged my cable and tried it D'oh. I'll try tonight.

Even though I have a very low quality video card and monitor it looked great.

Just need more content and look out major networks - won't need them anymore.
