Ido, we don't know who caved into who. So go back to your lawyer friend and tell him that you have your money on the table as to who will benefit the most. And you have your money on IDCC.

Then cap it off by saying as far as I know settlements make all the parties winners. That will take a little starch out of his shorts. And if he is an attorney worth his salt he will understand.

IDoCare, Your friend is correct and we won't know until we see a 8-K on the deal. The trading our our shares since the news indicates the investment community is also not certain if the deal with Samsung was good or bad.

If IDCC caved there wouldn't be 2 choices of payments Samsung would be telling us the terms! JMO

IDoCare:

Sounds like your friend is jerking you around a bit.

We all know (including your friend) that when the final settlement is announced both sides will call it a victory--a win win if you will. We also know that whatever terms (dollar amount) are announced some on this board will say "great victory" others will say "it was an okay settlement" and others wills say "not enough, IDCC gave to much away" (some are thinking .25, .50, .75, 1.00, 2.00, 4.00 a phone).

In the end I guess it will be the share price that will determine if it was a great win or not--and if IDCC caved.

fwiw I think NOK will draw this out for as long as possible--why should they pay before they have to--btw I am willing to wait.

Since both are settling then both are caving to some extent. But think about it terms of the worst case situation. Suppose Samsung pays much less than the current rates. That would still add quite a bit of new revenue to the bottom line. I
