Given the theories on how orchestrated and well planned this "pump" was, wouldn't they managed to have brought it up even higher first
I think that just wasn't possible, because there's so damn much stock floating around.
and more importantly wouldn't the crash have been faster and harder?
That's the other side of the coin: the pumpers have created many true believers, who won't sell no matter what. In addition, probably at least some riding "free" shares have decided to hold, at least for now.
