The rate is currently 9.8%, but it was 10.2% two weeks ago. Do mortgage rates rise to 20%? We'll see. A 10 year US Treasury pays only 3.96%.


Of course government-subsidized mortgage rates are lower, 6.23% for a 30 year fixed-rate mortgage, but I don't think that welfare program can last much longer.
