True, most don't. Which is why you don't just put down $100 or $1000 or however much into just any penny stock. I'm sure some of the people, maybe even a good portion, have invested based on recommendatoins or hype. However, many have also put research into CMKX, or other pennies, and believe them to have a good chance. By researching the penny stocks available and picking out of the many, you can cut the risk considerably. True, it still exists, and it's still relatively high, but it's far lower than if you randomally picked one. The risk you run is also lower depending on the amount of money invested. Those investing their entire worth into one penny stock that's going to 'make them rich' are just foolish. Those that invest a small amount in what they consider good picks are, in my opinion, taking an intelligent risk.
