Capitalist, just read your post on how you used to work for Fidelity on their trading floor and as a trainer/consultant.
I'm done university in a year, and was wondering if you could give me any advice on where or what type of jobs to apply for to get into this profession.
If it's easier and you have a membership, you can pm me your email adress.
You are absolutely correct. But after 9/11 I was working at fleet at the time. Contingency plans were being thought out for a worst case scenario. NYSE gets blown up what will we do? Type of thing.
By the by very well written and accurate.
You definitely know your stuff were you around when fidelity moved their IT team to NH. They still keep a token local support group in Boston. Knew a few folks that worked for fidelities IT group.
Funny thing was Janice was just mentioning that there was only in her opinion 2 trading floors in existence which as you and I know are wrong. Just wanted to correct that.
In some ways she kind missed the meaning of the post any way the point was that unless you right there listing to MM’s there is now way to know what they are doing. I just used trading floor as a general reference.
Which is no biggie. Thanks for helping to put things strait. GK
