#9701 RE: flyonawall #9699

You forgot this one.

THIS PRODUCT IS A DREAM!

By Dr. Lucy from CT on 1/31/2008
Pros:Safe, Effective, Easy To Use
Best Uses:Keep In The Medicine Cabinet
Describe Yourself:Medical Professional, Parent
Primary use:Business

Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
As a pediatrician and mother of two, not only has the Thermofocus calmed the fears of children I treat in my practice, but it has also made caring for my own children an absolute dream. Kids are not scared of this device, as they are normally of other thermometers - this does not touch them, and they actually think it's a game when I point the thermometer toward their forehead. It is also HIGHLY ACCURATE. I have done tests comparing an invasive thermometer (I figured this was a nice way of saying it) and the Thermofocus, and the readings have displayed the exact same temperature.
I would highly recommend this product to any parent or medical professional, especially new parents.

Thats only ones person review of this product but it interests me. I said from the beginning after reading the long instructions that I was concerned about accuracy of this type of thermometer. It needs to be in the same room as the patient for about 30 minuets. You cant come from a colder room or warmer room and get an accurate reading. A sweating person also makes this menthod not accurate even if the sweat is wiped away. To me these things seems to impose some limits on this device but certainly still has some fabulous functions such as its sanitary and non touch. This isnt the only one entering the market I provided a link previously of another non touch product slated to enter via Amazon.com on Nov.15th. Mabe these non touch themometers will really catch on. It may be good for thermofocus to have some competitors they will help get the word out about this non touch invention creating a buzz which could actually benefit them. We will see as pharmacists in the USA begin to give reviews on this themometer assuming they make it that far. Seems it was successful in Australia so should be here too. Been plenty of good reviews there and negative ones have been minimal . This still has my interest

To that review.. I don't know what to say. The customer is trying to say that no matter WHAT they measured it was 97.6? For some reason I would think that more people by now would have realized that when they measured their ice cubes and it read 97.6, as well as every other time they used the thermometer, that something was wrong. The review is hurtful, but to what extent we don't know. There's a lot of positive reviews on other sites. It also has "clinically proven accuracy" which is good, but its certainly not the gold standard in the field of medicine.
