Rogue, I'm not so sure that the present generation of retirees will be immune from the poverty that the crooks in Washington are creating for EVERYONE. Remember the present retirees are on fixed income, so $5 per gallon for gasoline,$300 per month electric bills, and a 25% increase in grocery bills hurt them even more than those working. Those in the workforce can work overtime or take a second job. Not many places hire seniors except WalMart for greeters. Retirement checks usually do not get COLA increases, except for social security. And on social security the annual increases for Medicare amounts to more than the COLA increases. So, I look for many of the present seniors to start living in poverty. The only thing that has spared many from that right now is that many of them have their houses paid for.

Worse? You mean like sprawled on the ground in the noon day sun with buzzards cleaning your eye sockets while your heart is still beating weakly?
