"Limited" meaning the owners of the company can not be personally sued.
But the company and it's assets can be taken down.

However A LLC does not indemnify the owners from federal prosecution.

I may be mistaken and might not use the correct terms here, allie can probably help me out with this one, I believe the issue the SEC may have with these two scoundrels is not so much what they traded but how they represented themselves to investors and the trading practices which they weren't licensed/authorized/whatever to use.
