Littlefish - The short term fluctuations in stock price of the miners doesn't say anything about the fundamentals. It's noise, manipulation, hedge funds going insolvent, etc etc.

Without more fundamental information I don't see any reason to worry.

And to add to that there will always be mining operations around the world constantly running. AYSI can still (IMO) grow exponentially by tapping these resources even if the industry contracts some.

Fish, i told you guys months ago that the Steel markets were heading towards hitting a brick wall. We've hit it brother. You guys just don't have the knowledge those of us working in it do.

I'm short all steel and indexes. Good luck to you guys.

LF - did you ever do a comparison between the cost of Allied Steel wearplates and the traditional kind?

Even in an industry downturn they'll need wearplating. Unless the value of AYSI product is something that isn't recouped until far into the future I don't see a declining industry being trouble for AYSI to get new clients.

There are two factors in cost saving products. Time and comparable cost.

If AYSI wearplating is reasonable in cost in comparison to traditional wearplating there would be no reason (industry decline or not) for companies to not replace their plating with AYSI through attrition.

If the comparable cost is prohibitive and realization of eventual cost savings is far out in the future then I would understand how sales of wearplating would be impacted.
