Greetings - I would ask the T/A "those" questions for the same reason I took the trouble to confirm that shares had been cancelled. Don't forget, the T/A is paid additional fees for this "extra" service. Everyone in the T/A ops department knows what is going on with what issues, especially non-routine activities. A buyback and cancellation program would be certainly be coordinated with the T/A before the program was even started.
I would NOT ask these simple questions for two reasons - I didn't want to know the answer, because I was trying to prove a point; or because I already knew the answer.
There is a delay in the cancellation process as the CEO stated. However, IF the T/A rep said we know of no such program by our client, then, yes, HUGE problem.
