Friend, you are only seeing the small picture. 19% of a barrel of Oil is refined into Gasoline. You are forgetting Aviation fuel, Diesel fuel, Asphalt, and Plastic. EVERYTHING you have that is made of Plastic is made from crude. Gas is small potatoes in the argument of why Oil will NEVER go away. What GM does has little effect.

WEEKS!!?? Thats news to me since theres no alternatives to replace oil right now.For you information,wind power needs at least 90% fossil fuel back up,do some research.We will always need oil,almost everything we use needs oil to be produced.
