Following my very long rant concerning NSS and fraud. Companies have issued and authorized a fixed known number of shares at any given time. Investors see and believe that number to be accurate and base there purchases (long or short) on the Market capitalization determined by the OS and AS number and co,pany value. Purposly distorting this number by selling shares that do not exist is fraud. The stock market is not the wild west.
