I am wondering why it fell so sharply (i.e. from $100+ initially not towards the end today)..I never quiet looked into it...can anyone please shed some light on this..

When you see really high pps's that's because they redo the price for the current share structure. Let's say it hit a high of $1 ever. Two years ago they did a 1:100 reverse split. The all time high would be adjusted to $100 for the new share structure. (Not QMNM, these are fictional #'s to illustrate)
