neye_eve, good find! Those Pentium-M mobos are highly integrated boards for aggressively priced systems, and undoubtably the performance sucks. However, it does establish how easy it is to put one of those suckers into a desktop motherboard.

So far that is the Celeron market, and not a threat to AMD (although Dothan is not priced for this market, yet). The next real question is whether a mid-performance corporate system could be made that would compete in the bulk business market (which will be 32-bit for some time).

An aggressive volume ramp of A64 later this year has to be aimed partially at that market. That is, for the higher volume parts that bin at lower clock speeds.

It is the place where market share battles are fought.
