Countryboy, the NBC/TVTonic/MS service will be available to all 100m Windows Vista owners, and this includes people in countries outside North America. Consequently, there will be exposure to Europe, another important market for the Olympics.

Users must have Microsoft Windows Vista to use the service, which runs on the operating system’s Media Center. According to Microsoft, about 100 million people have Vista.

There also could be an ad campaign by MS and its OEM partners (think Dell) to sell more PCs w/ Vista by promoting enjoyment of the highest quality HD reception outside the HDTV itself. The next several weeks should tell.
