I don't think Tiger wants to rush this. He may have to adjust his swing in the future, regardless of how strong the knee is post surgery. The guy really puts tremendous pressure on that leg with how he sometimes tries to crush the ball on drives and terrible lies in the rough.
He may never be able to play as he has in the past again but if there is any chance that he can get back to that level, in terms of his swing only, he better be fully healed and very well conditioned when tries it.

OT Woods: It might be one of those instances where they really don't know what will happen so better to under-promise hence saying the season is done. If things go well, then why not return early? You make an excellent point about not having much after Sept. anyway.

From these first reports, there could be more than ACL problems here. Maybe scar tissue from earlier surgeries?

Running 6-weeks after ACL repair sounds pretty aggressive. You apparently are a motivated individual. I do have a friend who was a bit too aggressive in his rehab and has problems as a result. I guess it all depends on our ability to heal, the extent of injury and the surgeon's skill.
