Why not adopt Little League rules when an American League team plays in a National League ballpark. Then the manager can have a designated runner run for the pitcher.

Well forget Steinbrenner for a minute, the Yankees prior to the Steinbrenners have a history of kicking managers to the curb unceremoniously.

As for the Mets firing Willie at 3:15AM sounds like a political move of releasing news on a Friday and hoping no one notices.

And I wonder if they packed up all his stuff; UPS'd it to his house and had Mets security bar him from the stadium.

My opinion,

1. Willie deserved better.
2. He didn't help his cause with the racial thing about him being held to a different standard. Get over it willie NY is a tough town and he should have known that.
3. He should have stayed with the Yankees. He'd probably be managing them now.
