The move toward corn based ethanol was, in no small part, induced by politicians seeking to curry favor with the large tract of uniformed voters who actually think ethanol is sustainable, and with the powerful farming industry.

Just to be clear, farming today is profitable only when you have the economies of scale brought by large co-ops. And, these folks have strong lobbyists who are paid big bucks to make you think that failing to support farming will bring back the itinerant dust bowl farmers.

Although I am not certain NSOL has been prescient, I would argue that they just might have done their homework on this subject and used it to guide their decisions.

For those of you paying attention, this is the requisite uncertainty that necessitates adaptive strategies. And, it is something only insiders know they are doing.
