Having negotiated release from a non-competition agreement, Paul Spivak then founded and
incorporated Intelligent Tanning Systems (ITS) in 2004, to develop the next generation of Spray
Tanning Machines. A trusted colleague advised him to contract with two “master distributors”,
one in Florida for east of the Mississippi and one in California for west. Soon thereafter, the
Florida distributor bought out the west coast firm. The company’s sales became solely dependent
upon the success of that one distributor who did nothing to grow the business. During this
period, when Mr. Spivak felt ITS would prosper under its master distributors, he moved to
Russia to pursue building a line of “Cigarette-Class” boats. Upon reaching an agreement with the
Russian government, he rented a portion of a former MIG fighter jet factory in St. Petersburg,
and founded MIG Marine. When it became evident that ITS had become stagnant, Paul Spivak
chose to cease production, return to the U. S. and energize ITS through a process already proven
successful when he built Magic Tan.
