Quincy should be so lucky, HandJobLuke.

"Nextel will never deploy cdma".

Yup, you don't have a link.

But, I do.

Nextel, the leading provider of two-way digital wireless communications, and QUALCOMM, the pioneer and world leader of CDMA digital technology, are working closely together on the QChat solution, which is designed to operate on CDMA2000 1X Release A wireless networks internationally. Additionally, Nextel is working toward making Nextel's Push To Talk(SM) walkie-talkie service, offered on the iDEN platform, and QChat capable of communicating with one another, so Nextel customers in the U.S. can reach customers of CDMA networks abroad with the push of a button.

Clearly, Nextel likes to keep its options open.

Nextel spectrum licenses are located above the public services bands at 800mhz. The Flarion trial uses MMDS spectrum at 2.5 to 2.6ghz. Spectrum that propagates indoors like a Hyundai through a brick wall.

Nextel's Flarion efforts clearly depend on gaining valuable spectrum from the FCC in the MMDS space at 2.1ghz.

Verizon wants that spectrum too.

But I'm curious, will Inhell sell enough Centrinos to justify Nextel dumping billions in a spectrum license and new equipment?
